The 7 th edition of ASEAN Energy Outlook reports the latest status of ASEAN’s energy landscape. It also projects multiple realistic futures to gather insights for exploring a more challenging time ahead. Using historical data from 2005 to 2020, the report forecasts the ASEAN energy system until 2050.
The 7 th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO7) was launched at the 40 th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) on 15 September 2022 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This outlook serves as a complementary document for the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) by creating four different pathways up to 2050 to achieve the set targets.
Its eighth rendition, The 8 th ASEAN Energy Outlook (AEO8), will be a critical input for the next cycle of the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC)—colloquially referred to as the ASEAN Energy Blueprint—set to be presented in the 43 rd ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) that will take place in 2025.
Using historical data from 2005 to 2020, the report forecasts the ASEAN energy system until 2050. As with its predecessors, AEO7 complements the ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC) 2016–2025 Phase II: 2021–2025, creating pathways toward achieving regional energy targets.
Energy is a key component in advancing the ASEAN Economic Community’s pursuit for an inclusive and dynamic regional economic integration towards 2025 and beyond.
